After the conclusion of the 3rd quinquennial session that took place from 8th-10th early this year at Seeta High – Green campus, the newly elected directors of departments at Central Uganda Conference were officially handed offices on the 23rd of January 2023 in a cordial and humble ceremony that was only attended by the CUC staff.
In his speech, CUC president Pr. Kajoba Samuel underscored the need for doubled efforts to increase membership by 100% in the forthcoming three years leading up to 2025 when the SDA Church in Uganda will hold its centennial celebrations. He added that CUC as an entity chose to strategically increase its membership by 30% annually so as to reach the 100% goal by 2025 as stipulated in its quinquennial strategic plan. He asked all the newly elected directors and all CUC staff to ingrain the 30% growth goal in all their activities and performance so as to multiply the conference’s growth rate in all facets be it performance, and not just membership alone.
He thanked the outgoing directors for their service for the past 7 years that were particularly challenging as result of the Covid-19 pandemic. He commended the spirit of unity exhibited through the peaceful transition and on-going cooperation rendered by the outgoing directors and asked that the same spirit be carried on; for every individual has a unique role to play in the mission of the church.
