Mobilizing the Hidden Resources
Without adequate resources any church cannot fulfill its mission, and it is up to its leadership to make sure that those resources are available. This means that as much attention should be given to establishing a secure and sustainable funding base as to the design and delivery of effective services. When there is a recognized resource mobilization scheme an organization can be assured of tomorrow but this comes with good plans at all levels.

KALONDOOZI EXTENDS TO KAMPALA ZONE Writes: Babi Kimera Godfrey A Delegation of Seventh-day Adventist Church leaders from the Central Uganda Conference [CUC] has arrived in Kampala Zone for the monitoring and inspection exercise code-named “Kalondoozi”.
While in Kampala zone, the delegation will cover districts of Maganjo, Najjanankumbi, Luzira, Kireka, Makerere, Bugema, Busega, Entebbe, Kampala A, Kanyanya, Kyanja, and Kikajjo. According to the Stewardship and Development Director at the CUC, Pastor Kazooba Fred, the Kalondoozi program has enabled Christians to realize their ultimate role in returning tithe and offertory. He says that in areas where Christians can not give cash as tithe, they have resorted to collecting items like cereals, matooke, chickens and cattle among other produce, which are sold off to get the exact monitory value. In the CUC Strategic Plan, there is a Strategic scheme which stipulates: CUC will have strengthened Chaplaincy services [Hospital, prison, military, institutional, business chaplaincies] by the end of 2012. From the 240 church boards in CUC, there is one recurring Action Step under this scheme and that is: Training of lay leaders in Chaplaincy Ministry. The team comprising over 100 pastors' wives headed by Mrs. Mary Oligye stormed the village on the 31st December 2011 and held a three weeks crusade in the area. The humble and gentle ladies have also participated in several community activity work including clearing and digging up dug wells, building and repairing houses for the elderly and donating household and food items to the needy.
